Dare to Be
Every student begins the year with a meeting with their support team – parents and guide – to talk about goals, interests, and struggles. This creates a launching point and sets the student up for success. Throughout the year, students discover more about who they are by setting goals, completing self-reflections, and developing their gifts.
Dare to Learn
We desire for students not just to learn to pass a test, but to learn HOW to learn. When students know how to learn, their opportunities for growth are endless. Through the creation of individualized learning plans, self-paced mastery learning, and small classrooms, we hope that every student leaves our doors with this skill.
Dare to Do
Hands-on Quests to explore science, history, the arts, and entrepreneurship prepare students for real world challenges. Throughout the year, they complete individual and group quests, create portfolios of work, and organize semester showcases to bring their projects to the community.
Dare to Connect
Arguably the most important part of the day is first thing in the morning – community time! Initiating each day with a blend of worship, prayer, and intentional moments connecting to God, we set the tone for a purposeful learning journey. We spend time learning how to connect with and create space for other people, which is one of the most valuable skills anyone can pursue. By learning and practicing vulnerability, empathy, and kindness, we can create a resilient community.

At Awaken Hearts Academy, our Portrait of a Graduate extends beyond academic proficiency, encapsulating qualities such as curiosity, compassion, tenacity, and a deep connection to their identity in Christ. It serves as a guiding vision, shaping the holistic development of our students and fostering a community where each individual can flourish in their distinct and incredible way.
